I turned around to close my underwear drawer and this is what I found curled up. Scared me to death!!! She must have been cold. But seriously, my underwear drawer?

In August Emily got her drivers license. We ended up driving an hour to Tillamook for
her to take the test. The wait for licenses in Hillsboro was 3 months. The wait in Tillamook was 3 days. Which one would you choose? Now she is trying to figure out how to get some gas for the car.

Can you say "J-O-B"?

Memorial Day Weekend
Friday night we went into Portland for the fireworks show to kick off the Rose Festival. It is quite the expeirence being among thousands of people. It was nice to be together as a family. It seems we don't get the chance to be together very often. There are diffinetly interesting people. It's fun to watch the craziness.
I didn't get a picture of Alex and Logan. They started out under their blankets because they were cold and fell asleep. Alex woke up right before the fireworks started and Logan woke up when they were almost over.
We always get a little bit culturized when we go. So many funny things/people to look at
On Monday we went on a hike up Saddle Mountain just outside of Seaside. Darren went on it with the scouts awhile ago and said it was "not too hard". Well, I don't think he has a very good memory because, it ended up being almost 6 miles and went up in elevation about 1300 feet. There was a part of it that we almost had to crawl. It was DANG hard, but when we got to the top it was so worth it. We could see Mount Adams, Mount St. Helen's, Mount Rainier and Mount Hood. We could also see where the Columbia river entered the Pacific Ocean. So cool! This was when were could see the top.The last part of the hike was the hardest.

Some of us (Alex) went a little crazy not playing with friends for 2 days. The school requested that kids not play with friends until those being tested were cleared.
When we got home on Sunday night we found out that school was cancelled for Monday and Tuesday because some of the kids were getting tested for swine flu. So we had a day to stay in jammies and play games.
We went to Spokane over the weekend so I could walk in the Bloomsday race. It's been a tradition in our family since we moved to Oregon. My dad used to meet us there and he would run while I walked. It's fun to get away just for the fun of it.This year there was about 44,000 people that ran or walked in it. I did pretty good, or at least I thought I did but then I went online to see my results and an old lady from Forest Grove that is 79 years old beat me by 3 min!! (I thought I did pretty good walking 15 min. miles.)
